Each of the four regional IGPA series crowns an annual driver and constructors champion, with a world championship held every other year. The world championship alternates between a spec series, national team format, and a best of the best constructors championship, with a drivers champion crowned in each. The 2022 championship, under the constructors format, looks set to be the most dramatic in years. After a United Kingdom nations championship in 2020, held in Brazil, the championship heads to the United Kingdom itself with a chance for a home country drivers and constructors championship. The four regional series will take a Summer break for the duration of the championship series, which is five races long and features drivers and teams based on the results of the previous three seasons.
